Shifting Ground Collective is Toronto’s home for emerging musical theatre talent. Founded in the spring of 2022, Shifting Ground is a nationally registered charity known for ambitious projects spotlighting the future generation of the city’s musical theatre stars. Shifting Ground has been hailed as a “company to watch” by both Intermission and NEXT Magazine, and chosen as one of Toronto Life’s Rising Stars of 2025 and Toronto Star’s “Top Ten Breakthrough Artists of 2023. Our productions have received four Dora Mavor Moore awards across multiple productions, and rave reviews from audiences and critics alike (such as this 3.5/4 Star review from the Toronto Star). Shifting Ground has launched careers of artists who have gone on to work at the Stratford Festival, Mirvish Productions, Drayton Entertainment, and many others. Additional programming includes a slate of cabaret style concerts, community programming, and developmental efforts on original Canadian musicals.
